Celebrities Wearing Hats Spring 2012

You Really, Really Need a Cool Hat This Spring . . . Here’s Why

A cool hat is a necessity this Spring, judging by the plethora of celebs donning them and the breathtaking variety you’ll find in stores. There’s also the functional bonus of skin protection, as a good hat will be your best friend in keeping those UV rays at bay. Whether you’re seeking shade with a wide-brimmed topper à la Beyoncé or polishing off your city-slick style with a fedora like Elizabeth Olsen, the effect is easy to pull off and incredibly chic. 10 trendsetting stars who make a great case for wearing hats this season.

Rachel Zoe honed in on her Spring style with a lightweight fedora.

Blake Lively added interest to a day outfit with a woven two-tone hat.

Emma Stone channeled vintage glamour on a much more accessible scale via a cool floppy brown fedora.

Jessica Alba‘s black fedora added an edgy dimension to her neon denim without going over the top.

Elizabeth Olsen’s vibe was perfectly city-cool, thanks to a slick fedora.

Katie Holmes gave her staples a trendier update with a flat-brimmed topper.

Miranda Kerr had that perfect street-chic balance with low-key separates and a statement-worthy fedora

Charlize Theron‘s off-duty style had just the right amount of on-trend appeal, balancing a relaxed tee with more attention-grabbing pieces like cutout booties and her cool-girl hat.

Jessica Szohr‘s topper had double the statement power thanks to an exotic texture and leopard print. It’s the perfect kind to take to an event, as long as you take a cue from Jessica and keep the rest of your look understated.

Beyoncé’s black topper furthered the vintage-inspired fun of her round sunglasses and vibrant-print skirt.

Celebrity maternity style

Styling tips from celebs who show us that just because you’re pregnant, doesn’t mean you can’t still be glamourous!

Hello, ladies! We have always raved and gushed about the best red carpet look or the latest trends and hairstyles. What about the glowing ladies who are expecting tiny tots? This time around, we are looking into the celebs that proved that you, too, could look great with a bulging belly!

Shorter!

Can’t stand the heat still? Want to show off your legs? Want something a little sexier? Yes, you can.

Heidi Klum has double the glow from the pregnancy and the dress.

Check out Victoria’s Secret Lily Aldridge in her white dress and some spanking hot red shoes!

Look at mogul-mom Kimora Lee Simmons in her champagne coloured mini dress. Who say pregnant means you can’t be sexy?

Bombshell Adrianna Lima was still sexy as ever pregnant wearing a loose mid-length dress.

Dress for comfort

When your belly grows and your breast lactates or when your back starts to ache, you are going to want to dress comfortable for events and outings. Fashion and important and as said by Scarlet Johansson, comfort is key.

Alyson Hannigan dressed herself comfortably in a bright cyan dress at an opening event.

Kourtney Kardashian, now pregnant with 2nd child, is still all about comfort when she was shopping and was spotted wearing a snuggly black coat for an event.

Pants

Afraid for a bad expose? Opt for pants, then. You don’t have to wear mom-jeans!

Keri Russell was on the set of ‘Girl In The Park” wearing a loose trousers and a snuggly top. See? You can look good pregnant with pants!

Hilary Duff was at her book signing event wearing a comfortable orange top and

Hilary Duff was at her book signing event wearing a comfortable orange top and cool leather pants.

Maxi-serenity

When you’re pregnant, your heat tolerance seem to decrease. Opt clothing with airflow material. Maxi-dress can still be worn, ladies. Just be more aware of the materials used.

Pregnant Kristin Cavallari was spotted in L.A. wearing a comfortable-looking strapless top.

Jessica Alba attended the 2011 Covenant House California Gala wearing a loosely fit white maxi dress.

All-Black Mission

So you are a little more conscious about your proportions. We don’t think you should be ashamed of your pregnant figure but if it is bothering you so much, go for a black combination. You’ll look great!

Heidi Klum looked stunning and beautiful in the elegant black full length dress which showed-off her bulging belly.

Check out Jennifer Garner in the black off shoulder dress!

Elizabeth Berkley, too, wore a snuggly black combination outfit paired with a red bag for contrast.

Actress Drew Barrymore was in an all-black combination with red lipstick for a touch of drama.

Looking official

Want to run some important errand but afraid to look bad in corporate outfits? Wear something smart-casual! Usually a blazer does the magic. Pair up a blazer with anything and voila! You’ll look official!

Look at Vanessa Lachey with her simple, loose dress paired with a beautiful blue blazer.

Gracieux

Like other women, sometimes pregnant ladies too, attend formal evening events and we want to look elegant and graceful instead of hormonal beings. Yes, we are telling you, you can.

Reese Witherspoon looked elegant, all right. She didn’t even forget to add a touch of risqué-risqué with that cutout section at her back.

Jessica Alba looks great in her champagne-gold toned dress with her hair up and simple make up.

Standing out!

Oh so you want to stand out too? No problem! Yes, you can! Just be sure to wear something of bright colour, or if not, something of different design.

Beyonce‘s bright, tangerine off-shoulder dress also stood out with her soft, side-ponytail.

Remember we said if you don’t want to wear something bright you should wear something different? Look at Heidi Klum‘s dramatic dress! If this type of dress is the chosen one, be careful of your steps, ladies!

It is a red carpet event, but Heidi Klum in that red dress will not have a camouflage effect! Look at her glow!

The wrong and right way!

Fashion can be quite tricky to pull off sometimes. Find out how to make particular fashion trends such as the tutu and leopard prints work for you.

Girls, fashion brings beauty and beauty is the first thing that meets the eye. You do not want to screw that up! Take a look at our 10 rights and wrongs and learn to do it right!

Animal Prints: Sure, animal prints can bring out you inner feline but Linda Ramone is over doing it! Reese Witherspoon on the other hand, sexy!

Big Hair: Chantal Biya’s big hair was trapping pigeons while Miley’s hairdo made her shine!

Underwear As Outerwear: Between Lacey Schwimmer and Kim K, can we make you guess which one screams trashy and which screams gorgeous?

Colour Matching: Kelly Osborne was matching everything from head to toe and she looked like cotton candy! Jessica on the other hand played it cool and classy by only matching her clutch and dress.

Expose: Heidi ran through our minds as her sneaky dress gave us a peak of her sexy body but it screams NO with Tami Donaldson’s outfit..or shall we say lingerie.

Feathers: We thought Paris had glue gunned her dress and rolled around with her pillow feathers. Naomi Watts’ dress showed Paris how to do it right!

Leggings: We’ve heard a lot about leggings and Leighton Meester gladly showed us an example of what not to do with it while Ciara rocked the look.

Sheer Clothing: Would there be any difference if Melody Thornton on the left had not worn anything? Zoe Saldana’s dress on the other hand gave out a beautiful sense of architecture and style.

Train Dresses: On our left we see Eva Longoria in a beautiful white train gown and on our left we see Miley Cyrus with a tail. We hope that is not what you are wearing on your wedding day!

Tutu: No girl is too old for a tutu but Rihanna is doing it wrong. She looked like a gift bag! Olivia Wilde’s dress, beautiful!

Celebrity hair: blonde vs brunette

As Tulisa becomes the latest star to go from brunette to blonde, take a look at other celebrities who have made the switch.
TULISA CONTOSTAVLOS

Tulisa is the latest celebrity to turn from brunette to blonde arriving at the High Court for her sex tape scandal case with a mane of golden curls. Well, gold tinged with orange – the downside of dramatic dye-jobs. Although her hair was overly dark before, we still prefer her as a brunette, she just needs to go for a softer, more golden brown next time.

RIHANNA

Rihanna’s tried nearly every colour of the spectrum on her locks, but after a couple of months of platinum style, she unveiled her newly dark hair to a film premiere just yesterday: a vast improvement on those brassey tones, we say.

JESSICA STAM

Next up on the hair-dying scene, eternally blonde model Jessica Stam has turned to the dark side, and though her pretty face could carry almost anything off, we miss the blue-eyed blonde from before.

CRYSTAL RENN

This model just loves a change. First she goes from plus-size to sample-size, and now she’s ditched her gorgeous shiny black hair for this brassey blonde. A change too far? We think so too.

CHERYL COLE

After public X Factor humiliation and a messy divorce, Cheryl unveiled a new blonde ‘do. Ageing and yellow-y we bet her bosses at L’Oreal were shaking their heads.

AGYNESS DEYN

The cheeky Mancunian model burst onto the scene with her platinum bob and despite dalliances with jet black (and flaming red) she’ll always be a blonde in our eyes.

ABBEY LEE KERSHAW

Much as we loved her girl-next-door mouse, top model Abbey Lee’s bleached blonde tresses suit her rock-chic style.

BEYONCÉ

Any colour in the world wouldn’t taint the Queen of Cool, Beyonce.

VICTORIA BECKHAM

Oh wow… In her WAG glory days VB was a bona fide boob-y blonde, but fast forward a few years and a successful fashion label later, and Beckham’s a leading brunette. Much better.

SCARLETT JOHANSSON

Though Johansson’s pretty face could carry most colours, that Monroe-esque glamour looks that much better topped off with platinum curls.

CAREY MULLIGAN

Blonde? Brunette? Whichever. Everyone’s favourite actress Carey Mulligan can do no wrong in our eyes!

REESE WITHERSPOON

Experiment as she might, Reese Witherspoon will always be the ultimate blonde.

RACHEL McADAMS

Some people just have all the luck: McAdams is a total beauty both ways.

KYLIE MINOGUE

Eek! That dark brown hair is too severe for pint-sized pop princess Kylie Minogue.

KATY PERRY

A very good example of why those with dark hair should reconsider blonde: it’s called green.

CAMERON DIAZ

Though we loved Cameron’s dalliance with dark locks, she’s the ultimate beach babe and should have blonde locks to match.

JESSICA ALBA

Honey-coloured skin and luscious brown hair, Jessica Alba’s dark Latin colouring needs no messing with.

JENNIFER LAWRENCE

‘The Hunger Games’ star dyed her natural blonde locks brown for her turn the film – a move which cost $30,000 – so that she she could get just the right hue of chesnut the first time around.

KATE MOSS

Time might have fooled observers into thinking supermodel Kate Moss is a natural blonde, but that is definitely not the case. Moss embraced her natural hue circa 1999.

SIENNA MILLER

The ultimate blue-eyed blonde, actress Sienna Miller experimented with dark dresses almost 10 years ago. We’re firmly in the blonde is best camp.

CHARLIZE THERON

Hollywood beauty Charlize could probably pull off green hair if she wanted to, but we’re big fans of her beachy-blonde mane.

EVAN RACHEL WOOD

Actress and style chameleon Evan Rachel co-ordinated her dye job to porcelain skin when dark, and warm foundation when blonde. We think her gothic side is the most dramatic.

DREW BARRYMORE

Youthful actress or Hollywood glamazon? Drew’s whole persona changes with a slick of the dye.

Hot new trend alert: White dresses

It’s time to say goodbye to the little black dress and say hello to this hot white trend.

You know you’re onto a new trend when not one, but two stars are snapped on the red carpet working it – and this is exactly what happened last night at the premiere of the new Batman film. It was all white at the Dark Knight as both Anne Hathaway and Marion Cotillard stepped out in white dresses. Anne chose wore a Grecian-style gown which showed off her décolletage for a sexy twist on the otherwise angelic ensemble while Marion opted for a opted for a show-stopping minidress by Christian Dior don’tcha know…

And it seems the white dress has been making quite the appearance in other A-lister’s wardrobes too – meaning it’s an item which should be featuring in yours. It’s time to say goodbye to the little black dress and say hello to this new hot white trend.

If you’re struggling for inspiration of how to work it, check out this gallery of celebrities all looking white hot.

Jennifer Aniston shows off her enviable legs in this thigh-split Burberry creation. Californian tan not included…

Emma Stone rocked an Andrew GN white dress of the red carpet at the Amazing Spiderman premiere in Germany. Gorgeous.

Jessica Biel rocked this minidress at the ESPY Awards and managed to combine another hot trend in her outfit too – neon heels. These block heel beauties are by Christian Dior.

Ginnifer Goodwin looks a vision in this lace dress. Her black heels and clutch help toughen up her girly attire.

Girl crush Blake Lively looks amazing in this batwing dress by Marchesa. We love the flashes of her silver accessories too.

Ashley Green couldn’t look less like her Twilight character Alice Cullen if she tried. Her gothic frocks have been replaced by this ladylike Michael Kors number.

This wrap dress by Salvatore Ferregamo would be our perfect summer dress – If we could afford the price-tag like Jessica Alba…

One of the most popular (and hottest, of course) female athletes in the world, she broke many hearts when she married Major League Baseball pitcher Casey Daigle in 2005, and the pair welcomed their son Ace in 2006. Jennie and hubby have since had another baby together.

Malia Jones
Well, if you are wondering, yes, pro surfer Malia Jones is also a model. She has appeared in more than a dozen covers and has been named one of the ’50 Most Beautiful People’ by People magazine, and one of America’s ’10 Sexiest Athletes’ by Esquire. In 2009, she and her now-separated pro surfer husband welcomed a baby boy named Spike.

Carrie Small
The 5′ 10′ Carrie Small has been introduced to us as the ‘Hottest Mom of the Lingerie Football League’, and really, who are we to argue? The 32-year-old hottie, who plays for the Tampa Bay Breeze, has a 10-year-old son, but what we really like about Carrie is that she plays football – in her lingerie! You can’t get any better than that.

Gisele Bundchen
We knew that whenever one of the hottest women in the world got pregnant, she would automatically be guaranteed a place on this list. Gisele is clearly that woman, and one could almost hear the collective gasp of shock and admiration around the world when Gisele regained her famous bod just months after giving birth to Benjamin Reid Brady.

Kate Moss
Motherhood hasn’t slowed Kate Moss down one bit. The mother of Lila Grace Moss has seen her profile rise once more in a year that has seen her get hitched in a much hyped wedding to rocker Jamie Hince, and walk the runway for brands like Chanel and Louis Vuitton.

Miranda Kerr
Just like Gisele, Miranda became the object of many a woman’s envy when she flaunted her curvier, sexier figure on the most public stage of all – the Victoria’s Secret runway – almost immediately after giving birth to son Flynn with hubby Orlanda Bloom. Judging by the way she strutted down that runway, Miranda was definitely aware of how banging she looked.

Gwen Stefani
The rockstar mum keeps it real when it comes to keeping her body yummy, “Maintaining my post-baby body is a daily struggle. I’d like to have no rules and eat what I want, but I’ve learned over the years that I’m so disappointed when I can’t wear the clothes I want to wear.”

Jessica Alba
How did the actress get back her incredible body after baby no. 2? By working out even while pregnant and doing 45 minutes of cardio every day. Of course, it also helps to be a Hollywood star with calorie-controlled meals delivered on a daily basis.

Kate Beckinsale
Could the secret to Kate Beckinsale’s beauty be tea? The actress reportedly starts each day with 4 cups of green tea and has a realistic view on maintaining her figure. She says, “I’m not aiming to be Gisele. And I’d hate to be one of those people who won’t allow themselves a slice of birthday cake.”

Jennifer Lopez
Maybe having a boyfriend 18 years her junior helps J. Lo retain that youthful glow. That aside, the diva admits that she works hard to maintain her body with diet and exercise.

Celebrities wear pastel colors!

Take inspiration how to wear pastel colors from celebrities.

Classic Lady Gaga?!

We really enjoy Layd Gaga’s latest looks. She turns down bit, less crazy, more down-to-earth and for real. No.6 is our most favorite. We love this color-block maxi dress, and controversially shaped bright pink hat matches the dress really well. We like the fact that she is wearing a lot of lovely pastel colors, which is so in fashion at moment. She is crazy but she is always in fashion. She adopt the trend elements but expresses it out by her way. Thats why we love her. So what’s your favorite one?

Elizabeth Olsen

Diane Kruger

Our choice for this week’s best dressed must go to Diane Kruger for her gorgeous Prada dress at the Critics’ Choice Awards. We adore Prada’s pastels and pleating (obviously) and the touch of pink is divine. The pop of color completes Diane Kruger’s effortlessly chic style.

Miranda Kerr

Miranda Kerr, wife of Orlando Bloom, arrives at David Jones department store on Liverpool Street, Sydney looking effortlessly stylish with her pastel pink pants and a small green leather bag. MIranda is in town for the David Jones fashion show which she took to the runway last night and wowed the audience.

Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba is a beautiful woman, but I’m not always the biggest fan of her outfit choices. To be fair she has a new daughter and I’m sure getting dressed in fancy clothes isn’t always her first priority. I’m about to eat my words, though, because what Jessica wore to the Global Campaign for Education press conference, really took my breath away. It is classy and grown-up without looking in the least bit matronly (there is a little peek-a-boo cleavage going on, after all) and the blush and nude tones are right on trend. I also love that she wore simple pearl studs and left all the other jewelry at home. This would be a great understated look for the office.

Stars Look Pretty in Pastel Denim

Easter may be over, but our obsession with pastels continues! In fact, denim pants in shades like light pink, baby blue, pale yellow, and mint green, to name a few, are becoming wardrobe staples this spring and summer. Stars like Cameron Diaz, Jessica Alba, Kim Kardashian, and LeAnn Rimes are fans of the style, but, fortunately, you don’t have to be a celeb to make it work.

Cameron Diaz

Kim Kardashian

If you want to add a sophisticated edge to your look like Cameron, dress up your pastel denim without making it look too sweet. Wardrobe Oxygen blogger Alison Gary writes that ladies should pair theirs with “a white blazer and tan heeled sandals for a modern alternative to the Casual Friday look; freshen up a striped tee or simple knit tank for weekends.”

LeAnn Rimes

Jessica Alba

Jessica’s your inspiration for a more laid-back look. Take her lead and toss on a pair of flats, a T-shirt, and accessories such as a scarf over your pastel denim, and you’re good to go!

Still stumped over ideas for outfits with pastel denim? Glamour’s Slaves to Fashion blog suggests trying out “a lavender pair with a black leather jacket and ankle boots, soft yellow with a structured navy blazer and your favorite ballet flats, or a sweet and simple pink contrasted with a camel sweater.” You’ll be pretty in pink (and blue, yellow, green, and purple) all season long!

Pretty as a Posy

Jennifer Aniston, Sarah Jessica Parker, Zoe Saldana, and other stars sport florals, one of spring’s biggest trends.

Jennifer Aniston, who’s known for donning LBDs on the red carpet, recently lightened up her look, courtesy of this floral Chanel dress.

Reese Witherspoon had a spring in her step while wearing this breezy floral-print frock.

Style icon Sarah Jessica Parker’s sweet ’70s-inspired design incorporated flowers.

Zoe Saldana added a pop of color to her otherwise drab outfit with a floral-print scarf.

This trend is one for women of all ages, as Dame Helen Mirren, 66, demonstrated in a body-hugging floral frock. Yep, she’s still got it!

Dianna Agron was positively “Glee”-ful in a pretty floral-print dress.

Like any print, florals don’t always play nice with others! The usually stylish Jessica Alba found that out firsthand when she dared to don this colorful ensemble.

Not to self: Refrain from wearing too much of a good thing! Case in point: “Parks and Recreation” actress Rashida Jones, who went a little overboard with the floral trend.

The hilarious Jane Krakowski embraced two trends at once as she sported both colors and flowers in one beautiful design.

Rocker Florence Welch, of Florence and the Machine, proclaimed flower power in this busy garment. Do you think it’s hot … or not?

Olivia Munn was a beauty in full bloom thanks to her floral flouncy frock.

Who says floral fashions have to always be sunny? “Bones” star Emily Deshanel donned the pattern with dark shades for a dressier vibe.

Laura Dern was cute and casual in a garden-fresh dress and a classic denim jacket.

Channing Tatum’s sweetheart Jenna Dewan topped off her fun floral-print jeans with a straw fedora.

When the chic Olivia Palermo embraces a style, you know it’s a trend! The former star of “The City” classed up her look by adding a buttoned-down blazer and a handbag in neutral shades.

Hollywood’s 25 most powerful stylists

The Hollywood Reporter’s 25 most powerful stylists and some of their main clients:

(Relaxnews) – After stars including Jessica Chastain and Michelle Williams topped best dressed lists during awards ceremony season, the women behind their looks rate highly in an annual ranking by US publication The Hollywood Reporter (THR) of the industry’s 25 most powerful stylists –which this year excludes fashion mogul Rachel Zoe.
After evaluating factors such as clients, visibility during awards season and breadth of influence, THR cites Kate Young, whose patrons include Natalie Portman, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams, as this year’s most powerful stylist.

The latter wore red Louis Vuitton to the Academy Awards last month and came second in a Twitter best dressed list, according to data based on tweets sent regarding the awards ceremony with the hashtag #BESTDRESSED. Jessica Chastain topped the poll with her black and gold Alexander McQueen dress, although her stylist Elizabeth Stewart, who also dresses Viola Davis, Freida Pinto and Jennifer Lawrence, came in fourth place in THR’s list.

This year Zoe doesn’t feature on the rundown, although this exclusion is explained in an article by THR’s Shirley Halperin.
“Because her success has been so beyond what anyone thought a stylist could achieve, THR decided to recuse her from this year’s list,” wrote Halperin of the stylist who has become a television star and boasts her own multimillion-dollar fashion empire.
The ladies on this year’s list are breaking into the design world too though — Young last year teamed up with designer Lynne Hiriak for the knitwear line Cardigan by Kate Young and Leslie Fremar created a capsule line of basics for Fruit of the Loom.

Most Stylish Celebrity Mums & Daughters

Zoe Kravitz & Lisa Bonet

A young Lisa Bonet found fame in The Cosby Show; fast forward 18 years, and Zoe Kravitz – her daughter to rocker Lenny – was following in her well-shod footsteps. But the X Men starlet wasn’t always so enamoured with her ultra-hip parents, she has admitted. “I used to be a little embarrassed by how she and my dad would dress, but now I steal their clothes all the time,” she recently told ASOS magazine. “My dad has totally taken my Cat Stevens T-shirt, but it’s OK – I have his Black Flag one, and that’s amazing.” Oh, Zoe.

Georgia May Jagger & Jerry Hall

It was never going to be a huge shock that Texan super Jerry Hall would breed beautiful daughters with Rolling Stone Mick Jagger. First, it was eldest Elizabeth who followed her mum down the catwalk and right now it’s gap-toothed younger sister, Georgia May, stealing the spotlight – indeed, she and Jerry even shot an H&M campaign together last year. “She’s given me a bit of a revival,” Jerry Hall joked at the time about her daughter’s fame.

Zahara Jolie-Pitt & Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie famously steers away from the fickle mores of the fashion world, sticking to wearing the few select labels she loves. But there is one girl in her bustling household who can’t get enough: daughter Zahara. Not content with dressing up in Stella McCartney Kids dresses and paying homage to her ultra-chic mum in tailored coats (as right, at LAX), the seven-year-old was recently spotted with cobalt blue braids weaved into her hair. A young Willow Smith in the making, perhaps? Speaking of whom…

Willow Smith & Jada Pinkett-Smith

The ladies in Will Smith’s life are quite the golden girls when it comes to style and success. Not content with topping the charts at a mere nine years old (even if you tell us you haven’t whipped your hair back and forth, we won’t believe you), all eyes are on Willow now as she hops from front row to premiere, leaving grown-ups open-mouthed with her eye-popping outfits and super-confident manner. US fashion designer Derek Lam is a fan, describing Willow as “naturally talented, charismatic, unblemished optimism, with the whole wide world open to her possibilities and abilities,” and professing: “I think she is the future-forward American icon.” Praise indeed.

Harper Seven & Victoria Beckham

After three boys, Victoria Beckham made no secret about how much she was hoping her fourth pregnancy would produce a girl – and a girl she had. Little Harper Seven had an auspicious entrance into the world, attending her first high-profile functions at New York Fashion Week in her first few weeks, and her wardrobe is already coming close to rivalling that of her famous mum’s. “We went in to Prada yesterday and she loved it,” Victoria told reporters in January. “It was as if she was saying, ‘Mummy, I’m home!’”

Amber & Yasmin Le Bon

Amber Le Bon’s modelling career began at the age of 20 months, when mum Yasmin carried her down the Chanel catwalk in her arms. Now an adult, she’s still not tired of hitting the runways with her famous ma – or heeding her words of motherly wisdom, either. “A tip for looking ‘picture perfect’ is probably a smile. I think everyone looks better when they are happy, you give off a glow – or at least that is what my mum would say!”

Suri Cruise & Katie Holmes

“I know I look good when Suri asks if she can have my outfit when she’s older,” Katie Holmes has previously admitted of her high heel-wearing, handbag-toting toddler. “[She] has been choosing her own outfits since she was two. Suri is magical when it comes to clothes – she’s quite an artist!” With a wardrobe that was estimated to be worth £2 million when she was just three years old, it’s little wonder that Suri’s a true fashionista in the making.

Bee Schaffer & Anna Wintour

Being the daughter of the most powerful editor in the world, you’d think that Bee Schaffer would be peachy keen to follow in mum Anna Wintour’s Louboutin-shod footsteps. Not so. “I really don’t want to work in fashion. It’s just not for me,” the 24-year-old Colombia student famously declared in The September Issue. “I respect her, obviously, but it’s just a really weird industry… People in there act like fashion is life. It’s really amusing, but if that’s your career – there are other things out there, seriously. I think I want to be a lawyer.” Still, we’ll never tire of seeing the two in their finest, polishing up the front row.

Tabitha Hodge & Marion Loretta Broderick & Sarah Jessica Parker

Twin cuties Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta never fail to cause a stir when out and about with mum Sarah Jessica Parker – despite the actress being candid about the differences between her and her clothes plate alter ego, Carrie Bradshaw. “Bradshaw’s life is nothing – nothing – like mine,” she said in a recent interview with American Vogue. “I loved playing her, and it changed my life in lots of wonderful ways, but I’m not a crazy shoe lady, I don’t think about fashion all day long, although I have a great respect for the industry.” There’s no denying that innate sense of style, however – something we’d be happy to wager is in the genes.

Malia & Michelle Obama

How beautiful is this candid shot of Malia Obama and mumma Michelle Obama? Of course, there’s someone missing from the frame – Malia’s equally stylish older sister, Sacha. The pair have quite the role model in the J.Crew-loving First Lady who admits that, for her, fashion these days is less about fun and more about avoiding blushes: “My day-to-day wardrobe choices are very practical. I’m like, ‘What’s the temperature?’ ‘Am I going to be sitting in the grass?’ ‘Will I be playing with kids?’ ‘Can I sit on the floor?’ If I bend over, I’m worrying about that embarrassing shot.”

Gwyneth Paltrow & Blythe Danner

Before she became a stylish mum, Gwyneth Paltrow was the daughter of one: super-stylish actress Blythe Danner. In an interview with Parade.com last year, Blythe revealed the advice she’d passed on to Gwyn when she became a mother herself. “Only take the projects that mean the most to you, and try to be there as much as you can,” was number one on her list. “You have to balance it. She has a wonderful husband, as I did, and we used to take turns to make sure we used to take turns to make sure that neither of us were both gone at the same time. She’s an extraordinary mom, and I’m proud of her for the great mothering she’s doing.” Plus, Apple’s pretty much genetically guaranteed to be gorgeous – some kids get all the luck.

Lourdes Leon & Madonna

At the tender age of 15, Lourdes Leon already designs her own fashion line and writes a fashion blog – but then, who expected the daughter of the original Material Girl to be an underachiever? Lourdes admits that the duo are always pushing each other to do better, particularly when it comes to clothes. “Everyday, I will be like, ‘Mom, you can’t wear that.’ Or she will be like, ‘Lola, you can’t wear that.’ A lot of the time we don’t listen to each other, but sometimes we do.”

Rumer Willis & Demi Moore

They’ve been going through a tough time of late, but Demi Moore and her aspiring actress daughter Rumer – her eldest to ex-husband Bruce Willis – have an enviably close relationship (not to mention looks that are more akin to sisters, rather than women separated by a generation). Who could forget the moment during the 2009 Golden Globes when Demi pronounced from the stage: “Ru, I’m very proud of you and I love you. And don’t hunch. Shoulders back!” Pure sweetness.

Lila Grace & Kate Moss

Although Kate Moss tends to keep her young daughter Lila Grace out of the public glare, she made an exception last year when the two posed together for a Mario Testino shoot for American Vogue to promote Kate’s latest fragrance, Lilabelle. “Lilabelle is my most personal fragrance yet, inspired by my daughter Lila,” the super said. “It is a really soft and gentle scent yet also a bit daring.” Unsurprisingly, considering her pedigree (papa Jefferson Hack is the editor of too-cool-for-school fashion mag Dazed & Confused), Lila was an absolute natural in front of the lens.

Peaches & Pixie Geldof & Paula Yates

Paula Yates will be forever remembered as an 80s style icon and, although she died while her children were still young, daughters Peaches Honeyblossom and Pixie Geldof have also embraced the world of celebrity, making names for themselves respectively on the London fashion circuit. Earlier this year, Peaches announced that was pregnant to her muso boyfriend Tom Cohen; their baby is due to be born on Paula’s birthday.

Kate & Carole Middleton

With daughter Kate marrying into one of the most prestigious families in the world, the style spotlight invariably fell on mater Carole Middleton, too. There has been much speculation about the length of the glamorous former air hostess’ hemlines but, appropriateness issues aside, there’s no mistaking where Kate gets her fabulous pins from. In her famous pre-wedding interview with her then-husband-to-be, Kate made us all go misty-eyed when she gushed how she’d enjoyed such a happy family life and hoped to replicate that with William. Talk about a fashion fairytale.

Kate Hudson & Goldie Hawn

No list of stylish mums and daughters would be complete without Hollywood bombshells Goldie Hawn and her super-star daughter, Kate Hudson. Ah, super-stardom. How does Kate cope with it? “If I want to draw attention to myself, put on heels and a tight dress and do my hair up, then I can. But I can also tone it down,” she explained in a 2010 interview with the Daily Telegraph. “For me, I’d go crazy if I couldn’t go out and walk in the streets. I learnt some of that from my mum. She is so recognisable. She’s just so Goldie! When I was a girl I would get embarrassed and say: ‘Mum, put a hat on or something.’”

Kaia Gerber & Cindy Crawford

We all know that Cindy Crawford is one of the most beautiful women in the world – so it was something as a shock to hear that her daughter Kaya Gerber’s fledgling modelling career makes her feel a little insecure. “I look at my daughter and I’m like, ‘You have my old skin and I want it back! You have my old legs, I want them back! You have my old hair, I want it back!’ She is just getting more and more beautiful and, you know. But at the same time, there’s so much good that comes with it. And I think if you’re happy in your life, it’s a lot easier to take.” Well, Kaya’s Versace campaign was pretty impressive…

Dree & Mariel Hemingway

GLAMOUR.com girl crush Dree Hemingway has a flawless pedigree: she is the daughter of Academy award-nominated actress Mariel Hemingway (if you haven’t seen Woody Allen’s Manattan, do so immediatey), as well as the niece of model Margaux Hemingway and the great-granddaughter of legendary scribe Ernest. The blonde, blue-eyed beauty has walked the runways for everyone from Givenchy to Chanel – in contrast to her self-professed ‘tomboy’ of a mother, who once revealed that her young life was spent following “dusty trails and boulder-filled avalanche chutes up to the high places”.

Charlotte Gainsbourg & Jane Birkin

When Jane Birkin gave birth to Charlotte, her daughter with legendary French musician Serge Gainsbourg, they were the Victoria Beckham and Harper Seven of their day (as this beautiful vintage shot testifies). The fashion standing of both maybe indisputable but, in true ultra-cool style, the now grown-up Charlotte is non-plussed by it all: “Style for me is a casual way of putting something on. It’s not thought out but needs to suit your way of life. Now I like wearing the same sweater over and over again, then taking it off when it’s smelly.”

Honor Warren & Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba is famous for her street style and her daughter, Honor Warren, is well on her way to following in her mum’s footsteps. The three-year-old favours girly skirts, denim jackets and is rarely seen without a pair of ballet pumps on her feet. Give it time, though, and she’ll be sporting the skinny jeans that Jess so loves, for sure.

Daisy & Pearl Lowe

Daisy Lowe and her mother Pearl have long shared a love of fashion – but they have more in common than just looking uber-stylish. The mother and daughter both designed ranges for troubled high street brand, Peacocks, with Daisy concentrating on swimwear (which she also modelled, natch), and Pearl working on women’s and children’s collection.

Coco Sumner & Trudie Styler

Being the daughter of Trudie Styler and Sting, Coco Sumner was never going to be anything but achingly cool. But, while we lust after her rock chick get-ups, Coco – a singer – says she’s not particularly into fashion. In fact, she has been known to declare: “I hate Fashion Week.” OK, then.

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld & Carine Roitfeld

And so to another Voguette, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, whose mum is former French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld. Julia got her taste of the fashion world very young, appearing in a Mario Testino shoot for Vogue Bambini when she was just 10. As you do. Now fully grown up, she has continued into the industry, carving a well-appointed niche for herself both in front of and behind the lens.

Elettra Wiedemann & Isabella Rosselini

With her pixie hair and full lips, Isabella Rosselini epitomised Italian chic in the 80s – and her daughter is busy doing the same in the here and now. Elettra Wiedemann scored her first modelling contract (for Abercrombie & Finch, no less), while still at school, and has starred in Vogue, as well as scoring a season as the face of Salvatore Ferragamo.

2 Hot 2 Handle

This week’s best-dressed stars include Jennifer Hudson, Michelle Williams, and Miley Cyrus.

Jennifer Hudson looked more glamorous than ever upon taking the stage during the opening night of The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas. The multi-talented diva — who has settled into a healthy weight that works for her — showcased her signature curves in a crystal-encrusted Ralph & Russo Couture gown. Orange-and-gold earrings, pink lipstick, and a classy coif completed the Oscar winner’s elegant ensemble.

Also looking lovely in black was 23-year-old Nina Dobrev, who turned heads as she strutted into the “Vampire Diaries” PaleyFest panel in an adorable Rachel Zoe-designed cocktail frock. Even cuter? Her $1,100, leopard-print Jimmy Choo sandals!

Meanwhile, Channing Tatum hit the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of his highly anticipated new comedy, “21 Jump Street.” Love him or hate him, you have to admit that the big screen stud looked incredibly debonair in his gray checkered suit, striped shirt, and black tie.

Michelle Williams’ fashions failed to impress during the U.S. promotional tour for “My Week With Marilyn,” but she stepped it up this week while in Japan for the film’s debut. Yes, her draped Alexander McQueen dress is simple, but that’s why we love it. Simple. Chic. Stunning. Thoughts?

Her new show, “Fashion Star,” may have bombed, but mentor Nicole Richie never fails us in the personal style department. While championing the reality-competition on “Extra,” the budding entrepreneur rocked a trendy, cheddar-colored Thakoon dress. Accessories included an Etro belt and self-designed House of Harlow heels.

Mena Suvari makes her second consecutive appearance in 2 Hot 2 Handle thanks to the flirty Alice + Olivia frock she wore for the Australian debut of “American Pie: Reunion.” H. Stern earrings, bold red lips, and matching Brian Atwood pumps added a splash of sparkle and a much-needed pop of color.

While we aren’t convinced that her messy mane was a smart move, we are sure of the sophisticated Chanel dress Audrey Tautou sported to a NYC screening of “Delicacy.” The beloved “Amelie” star — who also happens to be the face of the French fashion house — accessorized with basic black heels and a strand of Chanel pearls around her wrist.

Some people hate the dark tight trend, but we happen to love it … even when paired with a light-colored dress. Jessica Alba solidified our stance when she arrived at the 3rd Annual Diane Von Furstenberg Awards on Saturday night in a sequined, blush DVF frock, opaque tights, and black suede Christian Louboutins. What do you think? Hot or not?

The Prabal Gurung dress Jennifer Lawrence wore to the premiere of “The Hunger Games” was very polarizing. Some found it chintzy-looking, while others found it fabulous. We’re still on the fence, so help us decide!

We not-so-secretly preferred the futuristic Atelier Versace mini Elizabeth Banks wore to the star-studded event. The bright orange hue, the single shoulder, the Jimmy Choo peep-toes … all perfection!

But our favorite look of the evening belonged to Miley Cyrus, who stole the spotlight from the film’s stars in a beaded, two-piece Emilio Pucci masterpiece. You’ll probably beg to differ, but we’re sticking with former Disney darling’s daring look.

Hair Style Face Shape – How to Rock Killer Hair With Any Face Shape

There are several primary shapes that the human face appears in. Each of these shapes works the best with a specific type of hairstyle concept. Whatever style of hair is chosen, it is important to take hair thickness and texture into consideration as well. By utilizing these criteria you will be able to choose the hairstyle that suits youthe best!

High Forehead Hairstyles

There is nothing wrong with having a large forehead. Two excellent hairstyles for this face type include wearing bangs or a short layered look that reaches to roughly chin length. The former choice works the best with hair that is not too thick or curly. The latter style works for anyone with a large forehead. It takes weight off the hair allowing it to have more body. So long is a notable celebrity with this face shape.

hair style face shape

Heart Shaped Face Hair Styles

The heart shaped face is another type of facial structure that works well with bangs. Full bangs are a good look for many people. If the full-length bangs do not work there is always the side swept look, mixed with layers that will fall around the cheeks look amazing as well. A well known celebrity with a heart shaped face is Victoria Beckham.

Heart Shaped Face Hair Styles

Hairstyles for Oval Faces

With an oval face almost any hairstyle may work for you. Avoid wearing high hairstyles. The oval face is best suited to hair that hangs down instead of the upswept look. Rihanna has a very noteworthy oval face.

Hairstyles for oval faces

Pixie Hairstyle

It is quite common for ladies to have small delicate features and are often called “pixies”. It is best to wear a short, sassy, hairdo when you have these features. These styles accentuate the positives as much as possible. Winona Ryder practically pioneered the pixie hair craze in 1997.

Pixie Hairstyle

Hairstyles for Round Faces

This type of face requires the creation of contrast to bring out its true beauty. Go with a layered look that is short in front but long in the back! Avoid full bangs! The key is to open up the face and make it seem to be longer due to the lack of sharp angles. Kirsten Dunst has a noteworthy round face.

Hairstyles for round faces

Hairstyles for Square Faces

Avoid straight cut styles or anything with sharp edges. The key to dealing with a square face is movement. You want to draw the attention of a viewer’s eye to the entire head. A sweeping style with layers adds softness to your look. Jessica Simpson has a beautiful square face.

Square Face Hairstyles

Big Nose Hairstyles

A lot of people have them and few know what to do about them. They key to dealing with an ugly or obvious nose is to draw attention away from it. Avoid any style that places emphasis on the center line of the face, such as a center part. Work to create extra volume around the hair line. A side part will detract from the nose while providing a better view of your other assets. Sarah Jessica Parker has a well known ugly nose.

Amazing Celebrity Beauty Transformations

Surely all our favorite stars posing at various red-carpet events and fabulous magazine covers, singing, starring, designing… and so on, and so forth haven’t all along looked the way how they’re looking now. Celebrities undergo various changes in their fashion favor, hairstyle, and makeup through their fabulous career in order to fit current fashion trends. Thus let’s run over some amazing celebrity beauty transformations, starting from the very beginning of their career. Some of celebrity beauty looks will make you smile, some – admire and others amaze or even inspire you for your own beauty transformation (at least I hope so). Okay, let’s get started! Below you will find amazing beauty transformations of such famous celebs as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Scarlett Johansson, oh-so-stylish-NOW Anne Hathaway and others.

Britney Spears’s Beauty Transformation

Britney Spears as any usual person surely was spotted in her bad hair days or not-so-good makeup ones, but anyway Britney still looks good. And I must admit now she looks much better than in her early days.

Scarlett Johansson’s Beauty Transformation

Well, if to speak about Scarlett Johansson I can literally say Scarlett’s turned from ugly duckling into a very beautiful swan. Her signature red lips combined with blond tresses and spiced with her feminine curves do its part, making this woman one of the hottest Hollywood actresses.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s Beauty Transformation

Age undoubtedly suits Sarah Jessica Parker… it adds grace, elegance and refinement to her inimitable beauty look. What is more, having outstanding and not really “Hollywood-typical” appearance Sarah Jessica Parker can boast of very successful acting career.

Christina Aguilera’s Beauty Transformation

Christina Aguilera is one of the very few celebs whom I want to see several years younger (or more exactly, several pounds less) but with some current beauty details.

Jessica Alba’s Beauty Transformation

Jessica Alba is the one who has looked perfect always… okay maybe not always. But I can bet there is no one girl who doesn’t hide her not-so-successful photos.

Anne Hathaway’s Beauty Transformation

Anne Hathaway always looks stylish and elegant. The only thing I’d like to mention that fringe makes her look so to say girlish, so it’s good that she has changed the way her hair styled and opted for more feminine and chic beauty look.

Well, whose beauty transformation seems to you the most successful?

Red Jeans

Jessica Alba put a modern spin on her off-duty boots, T and blazer look by eschewing a blue jean and opting for a tomato red instead.

Lily Collins proved that even casual-casual can look smart enough for dinner at a swank LA eaterie if your jeans are on-trend.

For a recent night at the theatre, Doctor Who actress Karen Gillan slipped into these scarlet trews.

This wasn’t the first time we snapped Mollie King out and about in these plum-hued skinnies by Firetrap – and no wonder. They’re hot!

Bandmate Frankie Sandford, meanwhile, favours the spray-on burgundy look.

Cher Lloyd erred on the side of coral when she arrived at the BBC Radio One studios for a recent appearance.

This cropped red jean, leopard-print bag and leather jacket ensemble that we spotted on Nicky Hilton in October was a masterclass in how to rev up old wardrobe favourite.

The trend hasn’t escaped Hollywood’s notice, either. Amanda Seyfried wore her red jeans – smartened up with a button down-vest and heels – to an LA junket for her film In Time.

Young hipster Shenae Grimes put a grungy spin on her red skinnies with a band T and a leather jacket at the launch of Just Dance 3.

Trust the ever-fashion forward Fearne Cotton to be one of the leaders of this style pack – she was wearing her red jeans as far back as July 2011!

SJP pushed the trend on in this luxe snake-print pair.

Emma Roberts remains high on our style radar – and it’s on-the-button street style looks like this red denim one that that are keeping her there.

Our Spidey (style) senses went into overdrive when we spotted Emma Stone out and about in NY in this hot pair of red denims. Plus, not only had she accessorised them with the It-bag du jour – the Lanvin JL bowling bag – but she was also toting another piece of arm candy we would love to get our hands on: boyfriend Andrew Garfield. Sigh.

Max fashion points go to consummate style maven Vanessa Paradis for putting a luxe twist on the trend and taking it to the red carpet.

Never one to shy away from a tricksy trend, Rachel Bilson secured a spot on our fashometer in these printed tomato numbers paired with a cute cable knit sweater and biker boots.

Celebrities in Jeans

AnnaLynne McCord in J Brand

Spotted in Las Vegas, on Valentine’s Day, AnnaLynne McCord held hands with boyfriend Dominic Purcell. The couple were seen making their way through Mandalay Bay before heading to dinner. Earlier in the day, AnnaLynne attended the Magic select licensing and networking event, with Molly Sims and Selita Ebanks.

AnnaLynne looked ready for Valentine’s Day, wearing a cherry printed pink top with a burgundy floppy hat and her J Brand Bette jeans in Wonderama. This outfit definitely has a very 70s vibe with her floppy hat and the jeans, but I think the cherry printed top adds a bit of sweetness to it!

Jessica Alba in Hudson

Jessica Alba was spotted in another pair of neon jeans. This time it is a pair of the Hudson Nico Jeans in Lemon. These jeans are a lot brighter than the product photo. It’s like they will glow in a dark room.

I really like that striped shirt she is wearing. I surprisingly like it with those jeans. I don’t usually like the pairing of different pieces with the same bright color paired together. Somehow it works here though. The tan and black stripes help break up the look to make it work.

Doutzen Kroes in Isabel Marant

Doutzen Kroes was spotted spending Valentine’s Day with son Phyllon at the beach in Miami, Florida. She wore a pair of Isabel Marant denim shorts to play around with her son. These are some really flattering shorts. Probably one of the most flattering I have seen next to Siwy shorts.

Doutzen has some amazing legs. That was another thing that got my attention. It is seriously highly impossible for any Victoria’s Secret model to not look amazing after having a child. No wonder why she is a favorite of Anna Wintour. Well that along with having an amazing face.

Kristin Davis in AG Adriano Goldschmied

Kristin Davis and her adorable daughter Gemma, were seen heading to a local restaurant to meet up with friends for a meal. Kristin was dressed casually in a pair of distressed AG Adriano Goldschmied jeans, a sweater and sneakers. We’ve seen Kristin out in AG quite a few times on the blog, it seems to be a favored brand.

Although we haven’t seen much from Kristin since Sex & The City, she has two projects coming out this year, one made for TV movie and another feature film. I’m sure she’s enjoying some time off to spend with her daughter!

Alessandra Ambrosio in Mother Denim

Alessandra Ambrosio was spotted picking up daughter Anja from school earlier this week in Santa Monica, California. She wore a pair of the Mother Rascal Straight-Leg Jeans in Here Kitty, Kitty. I love that she cuffed these. The pairing of cuffed jeans with ankle boots has to be my favorite.

I wonder if Kristin Cavallari has seen these photos of Alessandra. She is currently going through the un-buttonable jeans phase during pregnancy. Which a find a bit of a surprise because she is still very tiny. Alessandra doesn’t seem to be having that problem though. I think a size up would help Kristin with her problem or maybe she should test out a pair of Mother.

Ali Larter in MiH Jeans

Ali Larter got snapped by the paps as she was leaving a clothing tailor in Beverly Hills, California. It looks like she was carrying a Chanel dress bag. I wonder what item was in it?

Ali wore a pair of MiH Marrakesh jeans in what looks to be the Sweet Indigo wash. I think this is actually the best I have seen the Marrakesh jeans fit on anyone. They are perfectly fitted, tight, but not too tight and the inseam length is perfect! I prefer how these fit Ali more than on Claudia Schiffer or Elle MacPherson. They look hot!
