CELLGRAB
LIVING HOST NANITE SALVAGE RUNNER
INJECTION BRIEF
You have been swallowed by a needle. One hundred microns of salvage hardware, floating in somebody’s bloodstream, with a full-face bio-mask over your sensors and the entire host ticking around you. The vessel walls pulse. Red cells tumble past like slow traffic. Somewhere ahead, something with a capsid and an appetite is multiplying. Your job: strip this artery for parts before your power cell dies.
CELLGRAB is a first-person 3D grab runner staged entirely inside a living body. You free-swim through luminous plasma in a chamber that breathes — a glowing nucleus hanging at the centre of the vessel, three-turn DNA helices spiralling in the deep tissue beyond the wall, mitochondria drifting like drowned submarines, red cells folding end over end through the current, and five vertical plasma jets hissing upward from the vessel floor. Everything loose in that flow is worth credits: enzymes, protein shards, ATP capsules, membranes, cilia boosters, mitosis sigils, spare nanites. And you collect it the only way a nanite can — by putting your reticle on it and firing the tractor filament.
♥ THE HEADLINE MECHANIC: HEARTBEAT SYNC
The host has a pulse, and the whole game is scored to it. Every beat throbs through the HUD heart, flares the nucleus, brightens the vessel wall and pulses the light in your mask. Land a grab within a split-second of that beat and the HUD flashes SYNC — that molecule pays ×1.5 and grows your chain twice as fast. The host idles near 54 BPM and the rhythm quickens the deeper you go. CELLGRAB is half grab-runner, half rhythm game, and when you are chaining SYNC grabs on the beat through a ×12 multiplier the whole screen is printing money in time with a stranger’s heart.
Aiming was built to be trusted absolutely. The reticle is your cursor — the system pointer is hidden, so there is zero gap between where you point and where you hit. The instant the reticle touches a molecule a 3D ring snaps around it and the brackets flare open; that ring is drawn at precisely the radius the grab test uses, so the ringed object is always the object you collect. Then hold the button down. Holding re-fires the filament four and a half times a second at wherever the reticle currently sits, so sweeping across a drifting cluster vacuums the entire thing while the ring hops molecule to molecule. It is the most satisfying verb in the game and the engine of every serious score.
Your timer is your battery. Power drains constantly, and the only way to buy more is to keep working: every enzyme you bank trickles a fraction of a second back into the cell and an ATP Capsule dumps +6 whole seconds straight in. Play well and a single sample runs almost forever; idle for ten seconds watching a protein shard tumble past and the HUD starts bleeding red. When power hits zero you lose a nanite and re-run the same sample with your haul intact — real pressure, never a dead end.
Everything in the bloodstream is both a threat and a payday. A Toxin Spore costs you a nanite on contact — and pays a fortune if you hook it with the filament and neutralise it instead. Burst through a phage’s acid orb and you parry it for five-figure points plus real boss damage. Ride a plasma jet and you cross the whole vessel for free while collecting the entire way. Chain any two pickups inside 4.5 seconds and the BIO CHAIN climbs: ×2, ×3, ×5, ×8, all the way to a ×12 multiplier at sixty links. Stack SYNC on top of chain on top of a mitosis sigil and a single enzyme can be worth more than an entire early sample.
Every fifth sample, the vessel belongs to something that should not exist. A MOTHER PHAGE unfolds out of the murk — PATHOGEN PRIME, VIRUXA, CAPSID QUEEN, THE BLIGHT, HELIX EATER, STRAIN OMEGA — a twenty-faced capsid crowned with spikes, a contractile sheath, six twitching tail fibres and a knotted genome burning pink at its core. It looms acid volleys, detonates expanding immune shockwaves you have to rise over or burst through, and looses hunter phages to run you down while you sprint for Antibody Spikes, the only thing that can puncture a capsid. Drop it below half health and it MUTATES: faster volleys, double shockwaves, no patience left. Kill it and the bounty lands in slow motion worth sample × 60,000.
Five bio-masks hang in the lab, and each one is a genuine build rather than a paint job. MEDIC-01 stretches your tractor range a fifth further. TITAN SHELL is a siege carapace — a sixth nanite, a free membrane and ten percent more power, paid for in speed and a tax on your haul. CILIA GHOST is a fringed stealth hull, twenty-six percent faster with a shorter burst cooldown. VENOM CALLER pays +42% on everything while quietly draining your cell ten percent quicker. GOLDEN HELIX is the regal DNA crown: +68% value, four nanites, eighteen percent less power — pure greed for operators who simply do not get hit. Whichever you seal into becomes your literal point of view for that sample, complete with its own etched frame, lens tint, condensation film and a mask that reddens on every heartbeat.
The host goes on for a long way. 120 hand-tuned samples across twelve body regions — Arterial Gate, Capillary Maze, Lymph Basin, Neural Cortex, Marrow Forge, Lung Alveoli, Hepatic Sinus, Cardiac Chamber, Renal Filter, Spinal Vault, Immune Front and the Genesis Core — each one recolouring the entire organism around you, from the plasma gradient and vessel membrane to the cell tint, the DNA glow and how much light still reaches this deep. Bank one to three stars per sample, unlock the next node on the host map, and keep descending into infinite escalation past 120. When the last nanite finally goes dark, the real competition begins: type your operator name, pick your flag, and your haul is thrown into the Global Top 100 against labs from everywhere.
