At the heart of the game beats chess’s most beautiful rule: PROMOTION. You enter every file as a humble PAWN — and every capture fills your meter (+4, gilded pieces +12). Fill it and you become more: KNIGHT, then BISHOP, then ROOK, then the unstoppable QUEEN — each rank adding +25% damage and +8% fire rate, crowned at QUEEN with ×1.5 score on absolutely everything and a +20,000 fanfare. Your cockpit piece physically transforms as you climb. But here is the sting: every hit you take costs 30 promotion — bleed enough and you are DEMOTED, the crown slipping from your head mid-battle. Play clean, climb fast, stay crowned. Ten badges trace the journey from FIRST CAPTURE to TACTICIAN to GRANDMASTER — with the rarest of them all, CROWNED QUEEN, reserved for those who reach the top.
And the board fights back with real chess terror. SNIPER BISHOPS don’t simply shoot — they call CHECK. A crimson targeting line locks across the sky for 1.6 seconds, pulsing brighter as it charges, and then a rail-shot screams down that exact line for 32 damage. The board-slate screams !! CHECK !!, the radar blinks the caller red — and you have one and a half seconds to strafe off the line… or CASTLE. Press E and your skiff blinks sideways in a burst of gold: one second of invulnerability, every enemy shot near you erased (each deletion refunds +2 blast charge). Three castlings, recharging every 20 seconds — the oldest defensive move in chess, rebuilt as the most satisfying panic button in gaming.
Thirteen rival pieces hunt these files: marching PAWN SOLDIERS, mitred DARK BISHOPS, KNIGHT SHADES that leap at your hull in gambit-swarms, fuse-lit ROOKLETS, translucent GLASS KNIGHTS, halberd-carrying QUEEN’S GUARDS, ribbon-trailing CHECKDANCERS, armored IRON ROOKS, jewel-orbiting CROWN REGENTS, lance-lowered GRAND KNIGHTS that prowl, pause, and then charge, spear-wielding ROYAL GUARDS, and the cape-and-scepter OBSIDIAN KINGS. Between the duels, the board keeps paying: GOLDEN PAWNS spin through every file for fly-through collection (+15,000 and blast charge), an IVORY COURIER occasionally crosses the entire horizon under a gilded crown — intercept it for +25,000 and a guaranteed prize — and the lavender pickup summons a SQUIRE KNIGHT, a miniature loyal piece that rides your gunwale for fifteen seconds firing golden bolts at everything that dares approach. You play with five spare pieces per game, an auto-evade instinct that reads grand-knight charges for you on mobile, and full helm-and-crown command on desktop — anywhere, any screen, nothing to download.
