MASTERPIECE — Assault on the Living Gallery
Midnight. The museum is empty. And every single frame… is empty too.
They came off the walls at 12:01 — Impressionist lilies dripping wet off their canvases, Hokusai’s waves curling into the crown molding, Van Gogh’s stars burning holes in the rotunda ceiling. MASTERPIECE hands you the most ridiculous weapon in gaming history — a giant flying paintbrush — and drops you into a gilded-frame cockpit inside a colossal midnight gallery of 75 wings, rendered in full 3D for the browser. Drift through the water-lily light of the IMPRESSIONIST MEADOW, ride the foam under the great curling breakers of the GREAT WAVE HALL, spiral past burning vortexes in the STARRY ROTUNDA, bounce between Ben-Day dots and comic bursts in the POP ART PARLOR, and ascend at last into the blinding white silence of THE BLANK CANVAS — where art hasn’t been painted yet, and everything is waiting for you. No installs. No downloads. Just you, the brush, and a museum that has gone feral with color.
At the heart of the game sits the mechanic no shooter has ever dared: PALETTE MIXING. Every escaped artwork carries a glowing color pip — red, yellow, or blue — and splattering it pours that pigment into the matching well on your palette console. The radar paints every contact in its true color, so you can hunt by hue: when you’re two kills away from a big mix and the well you need is blue, you start ignoring everything except the blues. Then press E and watch chemistry become catastrophe: all three colors = PRISM BURST, a screen-wide mega-nova with double score and 1.5× damage for five transcendent seconds; red + yellow = SOLAR FLARE, a 650-damage cone of burning orange; yellow + blue = VERDANT GROWTH, living ivy that knits your hull and varnish back together; red + blue = ULTRAVIOLET SINGULARITY, a howling gravity well that drags the entire gallery inward at half speed while you paint it into oblivion. Even a single full color splashes. Greed, timing, and color theory — finally, the same skill.
The gallery fights back with thirteen kinds of beautiful nightmare: wobbling PAINT BLOBS with googly eyes and drip-tails, quill-tailed INK IMPS, half-drawn SKETCH WISPS that dive in scribbly swarms, masked BRUSH BANDITS, bubbling SOLVENT JARS, knights dueling from inside gilded FRAMEGUARDS, orbiting MARBLE BUSTS spitting chips, cracked PORTRAIT GHOSTS sniping from behind glass, canvas-faced EASEL BRUTES, monocled CRITIC WRAITHS armed with red pens (the deadliest reviewers in existence), PALETTE KNIGHTS that prowl, pause, and charge, chisel-armed SCULTOR GOLEMS, and wall-spanning MURAL TITANS. Your arsenal answers in five voices: the rapid BRISTLE REPEATER, homing BRISTLE SEEKERS, the dripping WET PAINT LANCE, lobbed MARBLE MORTARS, and expanding PERSPECTIVE RINGS — crowned by PAINT NOVA, three chained shockwaves of magenta-teal-gold, and VARNISH TIME, eight seconds of preserved-moment bullet-time at double everything.
Every fifth wing, a GALLERY TITAN hangs itself in the air: THE FORGER — a towering smock-and-beret phantom wielding two colossal brushes and a palette the size of a door, spattered with the colors of a thousand stolen works. Or the CANVAS LEVIATHAN — a wall of stretched linen forty feet tall, its surface torn into a jagged grinning mouth, painted eyes tracking your every drift, stretcher-bar limbs unfolding from the frame. Plus MADAME MARBLE, THE CRITIC KING, THE GILDED CURATOR, SIR SMUDGE, THE SCULPTOR OF SOULS, MASTER OF UNDERPAINTING, THE BLANK CANVAS itself, and presiding over everything, GALLERY ETERNAL. Shatter their four blazing GILDED SEALS and the FIRST BRUSHSTROKE lies exposed — the original mark that began it all — worth +150,000 per class. Between the duels, the museum keeps paying: faceted PRISM GEMS tumble through the air for fly-through grabs (+15,000 and a surge of random color into your wells), a winged FLYING MASTERPIECE in a gilded frame occasionally flaps across the entire hall — shoot it down for +25,000 and a guaranteed gift — and the parchment offering awakens a LIVING BRUSH that dances at your easel for fifteen seconds, flicking color-shifting tracers that hit harder the fuller your palette is.
You exhibit with five spare canvases per run, an auto-evade instinct that reads palette-knight charges for you on mobile, and full brush-and-palette command on desktop — anywhere, any screen, nothing to download. COMBO COMPOSITIONS escalate to ×10 and stack with Varnish ×2, Patronage ×2, and Prism ×2; GOLD LEAF elites pay five times over and fill all three wells at once; every curated wing tallies its ledger — wing curated, PRISTINE CANVAS perfection, surviving canvases, accuracy, and swift-vernissage speed. Ten badges trace your career from FIRST BRUSHSTROKE through MASTER MIXER and PRISMATIC to GALLERY ETERNAL, the Floor Plan maps every wing you’ve hung, and the World Ranking Patrons Top 100 waits: qualify with your proceeds, sign the plaque, and see your name lit by gallery lamps beside the greatest artists who ever picked up a brush at midnight.
Lush, clever, and endlessly replayable — MASTERPIECE is the art-world battle-epic the browser has never seen. The chandeliers still burn. The statues have turned to watch you. Somewhere in the Pop Art Parlor, a Critic Wraith is uncapping its red pen… and your palette has never been this full.
Pick up the brush. Mix the colors. Paint the ending. 🖌
