BLACKTIDE — Curse of the Nine Seas
The compass spins backward. The crew is already dead. And the tide tonight is black.
Somewhere past the last charted island, the Nine Seas have curdled into a nightmare of ghostfire and gold. BLACKTIDE puts you at the wheel of a cursed sloop — and we mean that literally: your cockpit is a living quarterdeck of dark wood and brass, complete with a ship’s wheel that turns beneath your hands as you dodge, swaying lanterns, and a compass rose that tracks every horror rising from the deep. From the amber horizon of the SUNSET SHALLOWS through the lightning-torn STORM STRAITS, the wreck-choked CORAL GRAVEYARD, the green-glowing GHOSTLIGHT BAY, down into the bioluminescent abyss of THE BLACK TRENCH, you’ll fly a full 3D first-person pirate shooter built entirely for the browser — 75 cursed seas, zero installs, all plunder.
Its signature weapon isn’t a cannon. It’s a curse. Press E and you set THE BLACK SPOT — the oldest doom in pirate lore — on any ghoul under your eye. A black halo blooms over the wretch, plain as day on your compass, and for eight seconds it takes double damage from everything and pays double plunder when it sinks. Spot a dread galleon, stack it with Dead Man’s Watch and a Plunder ×2 relic, and a single kill cascades into eight-times score. Mark twenty-five souls and the Brethren award you the SPOTTER OF DOOM badge. It’s the most satisfying trigger in the game: choosing who dies rich.
And the dead come in droves. Thirteen flavors of nautical nightmare hunt these waters: drifting BARNACLE husks, shrieking GULL WRAITHS, POWDER IMPS that dive-bomb you in swarms of five with lit fuses grinning, weaving SEA RAYS, floating URCHIN MINES, cutlass-swinging SKELETON CREWS, circling SIRENS singing volleys of sound, HARPOONER snipers, cannon-dragging GUNNERY GHOULS, tricorn-hatted CAPTAIN SHADES, and the dread BOARDING HULKS — which prowl toward your rail, pause with awful stillness, and then charge. Above them all loom TENTACLE TERRORS and full-rigged DREAD GALLEONS bristling with glowing gunports. Your answer comes in five voices: the rapid FLINTLOCK VOLLEY, rope-trailing HARPOON SEEKERS, the ghostfire SPIRIT LANTERN beam, lobbed CANNON MORTARS, and spinning CHAIN SHOT shockwaves — crowned by KRAKEN WRATH, which calls the depth itself up through the hull in three expanding rings of annihilation, and DEAD MAN’S WATCH, eight seconds of slowed time at double everything.
Every fifth sea, the horizon tears open and a DREAD SOVEREIGN rises: KRAKEN PRIME with tentacles the size of mainmasts, CAPTAIN BONEBEARD, THE SIREN QUEEN, the LEVIATHAN, the FLYING DREAD, all the way to DAVY JONES himself. Each is bound to the seabed by four glowing ANCHOR SEALS — cut the chains, and the HEART OF THE SEA lies exposed for +150,000 plunder per class. Between the duels, the ocean pays the bold: gold DOUBLOONS drift past for sail-through collection (+15,000 and a jolt of Kraken charge), a PHANTOM GALLEON occasionally crosses the entire horizon — sink it before it escapes for +25,000 and a guaranteed relic — and the green pickup perches a SPECTRAL PARROT on your shoulder, a wise, judgmental bird that spends fifteen seconds pecking ghostfire at anything that dares approach. It judges your sailing. Mostly judges.
You sail with five spare sloops per voyage, an auto-evade instinct that reads boarding charges for you on mobile, and full wheel-and-cannon command on desktop — playable anywhere, on any screen, with nothing to download. Combos climb to ×10, POWDER CHAINS detonate for rapid multi-sinks, CURSED GOLD elites pay five times over (ten times with a Spot on them), and every cleared sea tallies its bounty — conquest, unsunk perfection, surviving sloops, accuracy, and voyage speed — stacking your fortune toward the millions. Ten badges carve your name from FIRST BLOOD SALT to PLUNDER BARON to PIRATE KING, the Sea Chart maps every cursed water you’ve conquered, and the Brethren Court World Top 100 waits: qualify with your plunder, sign the Code with your name, and watch it burn bright on the global ledger beside the greatest scoundrels who ever flew black.
Salt-sprayed, supernatural, and endlessly replayable — BLACKTIDE is the ghost-pirate epic the web has been waiting for. The lanterns are lit. The fuses are hissing. Somewhere under the hull, something colossal just opened one enormous eye.
Set sail. Set the Spot. Send them all to the locker. ☠
