COGCROWN — Clockwork Citadel Assault
Deep inside the world-machine, the boilers are lit. And someone has to fly into the gears.
Somewhere above the smog line hangs a city that was never built — it was wound. COGCROWN drops you into the brass cockpit of a gyrocopter fighting through seventy-five districts of a colossal clockwork citadel: copper canopies where airships drift on blinking navigation lights, steamworks cathedrals of hissing pipes, gear gardens where brass trees spin their leaf-cogs in the amber dusk, furnace rows that glow like the mouth of hell, and at the heart of it all, the COGCROWN CITADEL itself — walls of turning gears the size of houses, clockfaces with hands that actually move, pendulums swinging over the abyss. It’s a full 3D first-person steampunk shooter built entirely for the browser, with a physical pressure-gauge needle on your dashboard that trembles with every trigger pull.
Because in COGCROWN, your gun and your grenade are the same thing: THE BOILER. Every shot you fire builds pressure. Ride it past 60 PSI and your weapons hit up to 50% harder — the high-pressure life is the high-score life. But let it cross 100 PSI and your own boiler goes CRITICAL, alarms screaming, hull buckling, sparks raining through the cockpit. The genius move? Dump the whole gauge into a STEAM VENT — a forward cone of scalding vapor scaled by your pressure that blasts automatons apart and knocks the survivors backward. Land a 95+ PSI vent across three or more targets and the machine pays you a PERFECT VENT: +20,000. Managing that gauge — greed versus survival — is the most addictive tension loop in browser gaming right now.
The citadel fights back with thirteen kinds of brass-plated nightmare. Coglings roll in on the wind. Riveters hold range and spit steel. Springjacks dive-bomb in cackling swarms. Pipeworms weave between your tracers. Welders snipe with blue-white arcs. Gyrodrones orbit in gear volleys. And then there are the ones that make you change tactics: SILVER-SHELLED units — Piston Brutes, Clock Knights, the rolling fortresses called DREADNOUGHTS — wear regenerating armor plating that soaks every shot until you crack it (worth +2,000 a pop) before it repairs itself. Worst of all are the green-robed FURNACE PRIESTS, who stand behind the horde pumping healing beams into everything you’re trying to kill. Silence the medic first for a +5,000 bonus, or watch your damage melt away — a lesson every player learns exactly once.
Your arsenal is pure workshop poetry: the RIVET GATLING chews through light brass, SPRING MISSILES snake-lock onto four targets at once, the WELD LANCE cuts a continuous arc through anything, MORTAR CANNONS lob shells into clustered gears, and GYRO DISCS ripple outward in thundering shockwaves — all of it supercharged by your boiler. Stack on the AETHER BLAST nova that snaps every mainspring on screen, CHRONO GEARS bullet-time at double score, CHAIN REACTION bonuses for rapid multi-scraps, and end-of-district payouts for clear runs, perfect accuracy, surviving craft and speed — and the score climbs into the millions fast.
Between the fights, the machine rewards the curious. Golden BRASS COGS drift through every district for fly-through collection (+15,000 and blast charge). A GOLDEN BLUEPRINT flutters across the entire sky — shoot it down before it escapes for +25,000 and a guaranteed upgrade. Grab the brown pickup and you wake SPROCKET — a clockwork dog with a spinning gear for a tail who rides along for fifteen seconds, snapping rivets at the nearest automaton. Good dog. Flawless engineering. Every fifth district, a MACHINE TITAN grinds awake — THE GRAND MECHANIST, the segmented BRASS LEVIATHAN, the pendulum-armed CLOCKWORK CROWN — and you must unscrew its four glowing MAINSPRING COILS before shutting down the HEART ENGINE… except the titan re-plates itself every phase, forcing you to crack fresh armor while dodging radial rivet storms and summoned escorts.
You fly with five gyrocrafts per shift, an auto-evade governor that reads diving springjacks for you on mobile, and full analog flight on desktop — anywhere, any screen, zero installs. Ten badges track your career from SCRAP START to ARMOR SMITH to GRAND MECHANIST, the Machine Map charts every district you’ve shut down, and the World Ranking Guild Top 100 waits: qualify with your score, stamp your name into the Guild Hall, and see it riveted onto the global leaderboard beside the greatest engineers who ever turned a wrench.
Brass, steam, and pure adrenaline — COGCROWN is the steampunk shooter the web has been waiting for. The furnaces are roaring. The gears are turning. The gauge is climbing, engineer, and the needle is already in the red.
Ignite the boiler. Ride the pressure. Vent everything. ⚙
